Billings rose by around 66% in the first quarter of 2016, from EUR 25.0 million to EUR 41.4 million. With EUR 4.4 million, revenues exceeded the prior-year figure of EUR 2.4 million by 85%. The gross margin rose to 10.7% (prior year: 9.5%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New customer acquisition made particularly strong progress in the first quarter of 2016. Whereas the &#8220;Lotto 6aus49&#8221; lottery recorded only small jackpots during the reporting period, &#8220;EuroJackpot&#8221; reached EUR 75 million in March &#8211; the second-highest amount in the history of this European lottery. Against this backdrop, the company employed effective marketing activities to successfully persuade 106 thousand new customers to play lotto online (prior year: 56 thousand), while significantly reducing cost per lead (CPL) to EUR 25.45 (prior year: EUR 36.17). In total, Lotto24 raised the number of registered customers by more than 71%, from 577 thousand in the previous year to 989 thousand as of 31 March 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the jackpot-related expansion of marketing activities, marketing expenses rose from EUR -2.0 million (prior year) to EUR -2.7 million. Nevertheless, EBIT improved to EUR -2.1 million (prior year: EUR -3.0 million) and the net result for the period amounted to EUR -0.9 million (prior year: EUR -2.6 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In view of statistical uncertainties due to the jackpot situation in the remaining fiscal year, Lotto24 AG&#8217;s initial guidance, published in January 2016, will remain unchanged and reviewed again in course of the publication of its half-yearly financial report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The quarterly announcement as of 31 March 2016 will be published on 12 May 2016.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Hamburg, 12 April 2016) According to preliminary estimates, Lotto24 AG succeeded in greatly enhancing its key performance indicators in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same period last year.
